Ancient Walls – Herend Gold

Ancient Walls – Herend Gold

2025. October 11.

The latest exhibition of Herend Porcelain Manufactory Ltd., opened in a ceremonial setting, presents the centuries-old art and evolution of the Hungarian luxury porcelain brand in the upstairs gallery of the Siklós Castle.

Gábor Riegl, Mayor of Siklós, praised the international reputation and value of Herend porcelain, highlighting that the works of art of the Manufactory give the historic castle a worthy status.

“Herend porcelain has been a jewel of Hungarian cultural and craft heritage for two hundred years”, Dr. Attila Simon, CEO of the Manufactory, emphasized. He added that among the special features of the exhibition is a 4-meter-long decorative table presenting the history of the iconic pattern commissioned by Queen Victoria’s court at the 1851 London Great Exhibition, a stunning example of the evolution of Herend porcelain.

The exhibition features one of the Manufactory’s special creations, the Herend dragon, bearing the marks of the animal with the seven virtues of Eastern mythology, thus reflecting the rich symbolism of porcelain art.

In addition to the unique porcelain creations, visitors can also admire a collection of classic and modern Herend lamps composed with a special play of light.

The Herend exhibition can be visited in Siklós until March 2026, where the brilliant history of porcelain art comes to life.
